About Dr. McGuire

Dr. Canidra L. McGuire is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of Memphis. Before transitioning to higher education, she held numerous roles in K-12 education, including teacher, teacher coach, principal, principal coach, and principal supervisor in Tennessee and Mississippi. Dr. McGuire also supported a statewide partnership grant to strengthen the teacher pipeline as the West TN Regional Manager for the TN Grow Your Own Center. She provides coaching and support to aspiring teachers, leaders, school districts, and educational partners in West Tennessee. Her research focuses on organizational leadership, instructional leadership, and principal effectiveness in fostering teacher trust and retention. Dr. McGuire has presented best practices in education and leadership both regionally and nationally. She earned her EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of Memphis.
