Counseling Resources
It's okay to get help.
The University of Memphis Counseling Center provides confidential and free of charge therapy services (individual, group, and couples/partner/family) to students currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours or 1 credit hour for the summer. Doctoral students working towards their dissertation are eligible for services if they are enrolled in the dissertation credit and considered full-time students by their program/graduate school. Psychiatric services are available to uninsured students who are engaged in therapy services. Testing for learning disability, ADHD, personality, and other psychodiagnostic assesments are available for a small fee. In addition to therapy services, the center also offers prevention, outreach, and engagement programming to the campus community.
If you are experiencing a crisis emergency during business hours (Monday to Friday 8:00-4:30) please call 901.678.2068, visit 214 Wilder Tower, or enter our virtual waiting room between 10:00-3:00.
If this is a crisis emergency after hours contact the Tiger Care Line at 901.678.2068 and dial 2 to speak to a crisis counselor. Click to learn more about our newly expanded crisis service, the Tiger Care Line.

Fitness Center
The University of Memphis Fitness Center strives to meet the dynamic needs and interests of students by providing programs and services that promote positive physical health and encourage lifetime interest in active, healthy lifestyles. Movement and recreational activities help improve mental and physical health, provide balance, reduce fatigue, restore energy and improve self-confidence.
Our 78,000 square foot R. Brad Martin Student Wellness Center opened in 2021 and is equipped with state-of-the-art cardio machines, weight equipment, indoor & outdoor basketball courts, large fitness studios and outdoor leisure pool.
The Sports Complex (SRSC), just south of the outdoor pool, provides spaces and programming for intramurals and club sports. Enjoy outdoor playing fields, tennis courts, raquetball & pickleball courts, gymnasiums and the Mike Rose Aquatics Center.
Keep your body fueled! Our registered dietitian provides free consultations for students and members. The Tiger Café serves healthy smoothies and snacks, and our Tiger Food Lab teaching kitchen offers cooking and nutrition events throughout the year.

- If you have symptoms of coronavirus or had contact with a confirmed or suspected case of coronavirus, you may be tested at the Health Center. For students, there is no charge for this testing.
Tiger Pantry
The Tiger Pantry was created to help feed all students on campus. We believe that every student in the Memphis Tiger community deserves access to a balanced meal to fuel their body and their mind. College is full of struggles, and food insecurity shouldn't be one of them. The Tiger Pantry is open to currently enrolled University of Memphis students. The pantry carries food items (perishable and non-perishable), basic household items, basic toiletries, and feminine products.
Important Reminder: Due to high traffic and limited supply, students are allowed to visit the pantry one time every seven days.
