About Kena Price

Kena joined the University of Memphis in 2023 and serves as the Administrative Associate I of Journalism and Strategic Media. She obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Memphis in 2003 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Strayer University in 2006.

Kena brings 20 years of experience in areas including accounting, administration, banking, education, finance, management, and marketing. Since graduating, Kena has worked and obtained vital roles in organizations including Regions Bank, Accredo and St. Benedict. After several years in the corporate field, Kena transitioned to full time entrepreneurship in 2008 opening her own childcare center. She operated the childcare center for 12 years and it gained recognition for 3 Star status, high quality education, outstanding leadership, and Memphis best childcare awards.

In addition to her full-time duties, Kena offers freelance services in event coordinating and interior design and is certified in both fields. She also has the privilege of serving at her church as the newly promoted Director of Operations, where she was formerly Chief Financial Officer. In her free time, Kena loves to travel with her husband and children, exercise, read and be the loudest cheerleader at her children’s basketball, soccer, and volleyball games.
