About Prof. Dana Albright
Prof. Dana Albright has had a foot in the worlds of advertising and journalism since 1998. She has written copy for Memphis agencies and directly for many companies throughout North America and is a contributing writer for Focus Mid-South magazine. In 2018, Albright launched the magazine’s top-rated RE:Focus podcast and served as its inaugural producer. She melded her linguistic geekery and love of audio storytelling to create a lecture-cast for JRSM 1750, Precision Language, and enjoys working with students as they explore the ways media language differs from language use in other contexts. As a graduate student, Prof. Albright received multiple awards, including the Best in Show award for Online Journalism, from the Tennessee Associated Press. She received both of her degrees, the Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Language and Linguistics) and Master of Arts in Journalism (News and Storytelling), from the University of Memphis.
