Early Withdrawal

If a student decides to withdraw from classes before completion of their program, but intends to return within five months to resume work toward completion of the program, then the student must contact ISS to approve a leave of absence and endorse the I-20 in order to facilitate reentry. This situation most commonly arises for medical reasons, as a result of a family emergency, or to fulfill a military service requirement.  The student must depart the United States within 15 days of withdrawing from classes.
