Completion of F-1 Program

Upon completing the program of study authorized on the I-20, a student has several options:

• Depart the United States within 60 days.
• Continue studies by applying for and being accepted into a higher-level degree program. See Change education level.
• Engage in Optional Practical Training.
• If you meet the requirements for a different immigration status, change your status to another category.
