Dr. Matthew Panozzo (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Literacy in the Department of Instruction and Curriculum Leadership at the University of Memphis. His teaching and research area includes exploring identity, empathy and humanity through literacy, arts-based education research, and LGBTQ children’s and young adult books. Dr. Panozzo has more than a decade of experience teaching middle and high school English. He earned his Ed.D. in Literacy from Sam Houston State University. 

 

In 2019, Dr. Panozzo was one of the International Literacy Association’s 30-under-30 honorees.
