About Dr. Bates

Dr. Bates graduated with her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with concentrations in early childhood education and middle level mathematics. She served as an elementary teacher while continuing her commitment to lifelong learning. Dr. Bates holds a master's degree in educational development and strategies and earned a doctoral degree in educational leadership. Dr. Bates has joined the UofM family from Pennsylvania where she served as an Assistant Professor of Education at Kutztown University. Her research is grounded in teacher preparation, philosophy versus practice, and classroom technology. Dr. Bates currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor on the Lambuth campus.
