About Lucas Baumgartner
Luke Baumgartner joined the University of Memphis as an exercise, sport & movement sciences instructor in the College of Health Sciences in January 2018. Prior to this, he served in a wide range of roles in the educational field as well as the health, wellness and fitness industries. Luke has worked as a physical education teacher, athletic director, coach, researcher and exercise physiologist. He has held administrative positions and senior level roles in a variety of sectors, including public schools, universities, fitness centers, digital health startup and private contracts. As a young child, Luke learned a lot through movement and being active. He played multiple sports from his early years, all the way through college. Through his education and experiences, he's developed a passion for teaching students and professionals, about the importance of exercise science in maximizing health and performance while minimizing injuries
