Dual Enrollment & Academic Pathways

 

Each student at University High will have the opportunity to earn a minimum of 15 hours of college credit, and a maximum of 36 credit hours. All credit hours will be through dual-enrolled courses at the University of Memphis.

Each student will have the opportunity to identify an individual academic pathway or concentration that aligns with their strengths and interests. During each student’s freshman year, they will work with a team of faculty and staff to identify those strengths and interests and participate in exploratory activities before determining their academic concentration. Pathways include high school curriculum, collegiate coursework, and experiential learning activities that connect learning to the world around us. Pathways are built upon student interest and may include the following:

  • Entrepreneurship
  • Arts Entrepreneurship
  • Culinary Arts
  • STEM (Aeronautics, Engineering, Cyber-Security) 
  • Law & Policy 
  • Education & Pre-Service Teaching 
  • Nursing, Pre-Med, & Mental Health Professions
