WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER GOALS? After undergrad, I would like to continue school to get my J.D. and eventually practice Intellectual Property Law.
WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS OR HOBBIES? I love baking, reading and spending time with family and friends in my free time.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU? WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE ENGINEERING? Helping better the world in any way that I can has always motivated me. Biomedical Engineering helps an unmeasurable amount of people in a great variety of ways.
ARE YOU INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY? WHERE AND HOW DO YOU VOLUNTEER? As the community service chairperson of the Student Athlete Advisory Committe (SAAC) at the University, I have participated in many community service activities across the city. This semester, I have helped the literacy programs at Sea Isle Elementary and the Campus School by reading to students, as well as volunteered at events such as the Youth Villages 5k and Halloween Trick-or-Treat for Campus School students.
WHAT STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS ARE YOU INVOLVED IN? I run cross country and track for the University. Additionally, I am a member of BMES.
HAVE YOU PARTICIPATED IN ANY RESEARCH? IF SO, DESCRIBE YOUR EXPERIENCE. I work as an Undergraduate Lab Research Assistant in Dr. Jennings lab. I have a great experience here and have learned many useful lab techniques as well as assisting graduate (MS and PhD) students and postdoctoral associates with their research.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE? As a student-athlete and an engineering student, I am brought with many challenges; however, I am immensely thankful to be in this situation at the University of Memphis, where many great opportunites are offered to me in many places.
