Malaysha Bingham: A Journey in Business Information Assurance
Malaysha Bingham, born in Memphis, TN, and raised in Jonestown, MS, recently graduated from the University of Memphis (UofM) where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Business Information & Technology this past May. Currently residing in Memphis, Malaysha has embarked on the next phase of her academic journey by enrolling in the UofM's FCBE's MBA Business Information Assurance Program.
Malaysha works as a Management Trainee at Enterprise Mobility, a position she was promoted to after completing their internship program and earning her bachelor's degree. Her current role has allowed her to apply the knowledge and skills she gained during her undergraduate studies, providing a solid foundation for her graduate education.
Academic Preparation and Motivation
Reflecting on her undergraduate experience, Malaysha credits her coursework for laying the groundwork for her graduate studies. She developed essential skills in self-discipline and time management, which she believes will be crucial as she advances in her academic pursuits. A hardworking individual with a clear vision for her future, Malaysha has always set ambitious educational goals for herself. Remarkably, she earned her associate degree at 18 and her bachelor’s degree at 19, demonstrating her commitment to achieving her academic milestones early in life.
Malaysha's decision to pursue a master's degree was a personal one, driven by her desire to capitalize on the benefits of her hard work at a young age. While her family provided motivation and support, it was ultimately her own determination that propelled her forward.
Influential Mentors and Educational Goals
One of the standout figures in Malaysha's academic journey has been Professor Schaeffer, whom she describes as one of the best instructors she has encountered at UofM. His guidance, support, and valuable feedback, particularly on a future business plan idea she submitted, have been instrumental in her decision to continue her education.
As Malaysha progresses through her master’s program, she is eager to expand her knowledge in several areas, including human resource management, entrepreneurship, leadership skills, and operations management. She looks forward to engaging more with the campus community and taking advantage of the networking opportunities available to graduate students.
Aspirations and Future Goals
Malaysha's academic goals include excelling in all her courses and graduating within three semesters. Professionally, she aims to explore various career paths and enhance her skills in public speaking, presentation, and marketing. Ultimately, her career aspiration is to own and manage her own business, with a particular interest in buying and renting houses, though she remains open to other entrepreneurial ideas.
