Thanks to a grant from the Student Leadership and Involvement division, we were able to host an additional luncheon to our FWL schedule. Thanks to all the students and women employers who joined us! Our event theme was Women Who Share Our Voice! |
Our panelists included Cynthia Thompson, CEO and editor of HR Professionals magazine (a woman-owned business), Dr. Deneen Lester, Executive Director of Human Resources, Salvation Army and owner of “Let’s Talk HR with Dr.Deneen” YouTube HR program, and Jana Cardona, CEO of Designed 4 Success, Coach and Advocate for Women. |
If you are looking to build your brand, consider volunteering with FWL.
Each year we assist this women-focused non-profit with a holiday party, complete with Santa and lots of holiday cheer. In addition, we host the graduation for the DeNeuville Learning Center graduation in FCBE. Our goal is to provide eligible women graduating with the high school equivalency, citizenship and workplace training diplomas to give them a competitive edge when entering the workforce and their future careers.

“The UofM is lucky to have a business group focused on the advancement and celebration of young women business leaders! During my time as a student member of FWL, I received opportunities to grow as both a business student and woman. These opportunities helped refine my passion for business and gave me various resources for planning my career path. Each meeting is thoughtfully organized with inspiring and intentional speakers who share their thoughts, experiences and even challenges. Now as an alumna, I get the pleasure to attend these meetings and offer my own advice and resources to the next generation of women trailblazers. I am so grateful for this group and the lifelong network it continues to nurture!”

"Fogelman Women in Leadership is a unique opportunity for students to learn from amazing
professional leaders in the community. Every workshop has helped me to gain new perspective
of the real-world issues and learning from one another was enriching to my personal
and professional career.”
Stephanie Soniat | MBA Student & SVP of Treasury Management Digital Tech | First Horizon Bank
The Fogelman Women in Leadership Conference was top-notch. The speakers were authentic
and informative, the networking with other leaders was incredibly helpful and the
tone of the program was tailored to help students grow. I walked away with fresh energy
and insights on my role and how I can help others. I’m proud to be a part of this
program and thankful for the support of FCBE for all women students.

As a HR major, I particularly value female leadership development because of the skill gap for women. I enjoyed the connections I made as well as the perspectives I gained from the Fogelman Women in Leadership Program. I hope to be able to continue participating as a FCBE alumna.
