Agriculture and Conservation

ACRE (The Institute for Agricultural and Conservation Research and Education) is directed by Dr. Jennifer Mandel, a leading plant geneticist, and includes collaborations with scientists, engineers, and other experts from the College of Arts and Sciences, Fogelman College of Business & Economics, Herff College of Engineering, and the College of Health Sciences to conduct cross-disciplinary agriculture research with the potential to make significant impacts in food and agriculture innovation and sustainability. The Institute will also bring together diverse stakeholders across the region, including businesses, farmers, and community organizations, to share ideas, form strategic partnerships, and pursue collaborative research opportunities that will fuel agricultural innovation, entrepreneurial activity, job creation, and economic growth for Tennessee.
