Biography
Dr. Emma Xu is an Assistant Professor of Finance. Her research explores corporate mergers, human capital, innovation, and diversity, with a particular focus on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and corporate investments. She examines how firms generate long-term value through internal investments and acquisitions, as well as the role of organizational and labor-related factors in shaping investment outcomes.
Her work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Quarterly Journal of Finance. Dr. Xu earned her Ph.D. from the University of Iowa and a Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University.
