The FedEx Institute offers free student technology bootcamps to undergraduates on campus. These workshops provide a beginner audience with critical technology skills across a broad range of spectrum. We are excited about another great year at the University of Memphis. The FedEx Institute is the center of technology innovation in Memphis. Tech Welcome Week is an opportunity for students, regardless of technology experience, to see what's on offer at the University and in the city. From drone racing in the parking garages to unmanned systems research, the FedEx Institute is all about drones. Come meet some of the people making drones happen in Memphis. The DRONES Research Cluster, Express Drone Parts, 901FPV, and others will be on hand to showcase what you can do, and how to do it safely.

Websites are the modern resume. Every student needs to have basic knowledge of how to build a website in order to succeed professionally, and the Institute is here to help. In partnership with the Memphis Wordpress Meetup and Memphis WebWorkers Meetup, we are providing a free introduction to the basics of building a website.
VR Open House: September 1 @ 6:00
The FedEx Institute is home to the first VR lab in Memphis. This facility is open to students, faculty, and the community through partnerships with IIS, Memphis Game Developers, and the student chapter of ACM. Join us for some hands on trials of Oculus Rift, HTC Vibe, Microsoft Hololens, and others. Also, see first hand content development from the UofM and research in VR.
