JD/MBA
The JD/MBA is a 36-credit hour dual degree designed for students who are currently enrolled in the JD program at the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and are interested in modern law and management.
Owning a law firm, large, small or solo, can be overwhelming when it comes to business operations, accounts receivable/payable, employee management, etc. By concurrently completing a master's in Business Administration, you can acquire that knowledge and be dually prepared when you graduate from Law School.
MBA Classes
MBA classes may be taken on campus or online. On-campus classes are offered at the Fogelman College of Business & Economics.
Please note:
- Only on-campus MBA classes will be counted towards the JD degree.
- All MBA Core classes except for BA 7501 and BA 7503 can be counted towards the JD degree.
- List of JD classes that can be counted towards the MBA degree.
Eligibility
Law students must be admitted into the MBA program and begin MBA coursework towards the MBA program before starting the third year of coursework for the Law School.

By enrolling in the JD/MBA dual degree program, students will be able to count coursework from each program towards both degrees.
