SHRM Student Chapter Hosted SHRM-Memphis Inclusive Diversity Conference

The Fogelman College of Business & Economics and the FCBE SHRM Student Chapter recently
hosted the SHRM-Memphis Inclusive Diversity Conference on October 5. Over 75 employers
attended the second annual Inclusive Diversity Conference that was hosted in the FCBE
lobby. Participating companies for the event included FedEx Services, Medtronic, International
Paper, First Horizon/First Horizon, Fisher Phillips, BASF, and more, in addition to
12 exhibitors from the HR industry.
The keynote speaker was Mr. John Daniel, Executive Vice President for Human Resources with First Horizon, and he focused on the importance of implementing inclusive diversity in the workplace. Ms. Tori Black, with FedEx Services, led a student session entitled, "A Day in the Life of D & I Professional" where students participated in interactive exercises and learned about career opportunities within the industry.
This event served as a platform to discuss an important topic within the world of business, and employers valued the conference to explore best practices and strategies for making the workplace more inclusive and diverse. The Fogelman College of Business & Economics, FCBE SHRM Student Chapter, and SHRM-Memphis would like to extend a thank you to all who participated.
