The International Business Student Organization Gives Back to the Memphis Community

For release:  November 28, 2018

On Thanksgiving Day, the International Business Student Organization (IBSO), a Fogelman College of Business & Economics student organization, participated in the UMpact Food Recovery Chapter's annual food recovery. They helped fight food insecurity and homelessness by recovering 551 pounds of delicious food from the Holiday Inn that would have been otherwise thrown away and donated it to HOPE, Homeless Organizing for Power. HOPE distributed the food to those experiencing homelessness in the Memphis community.

A special thank you to the IBSO President, Raqhelle Millbrooks who helped launched this initiative three years ago to inspire change in the Memphis community. Thank you also to the dedicated IBSO members, Ronald Lofton, Aminata Agne, Matthew Pate, and Kelsey Chambers for taking the time to volunteer!
