Dr. Velichety named as the secretary for INFORMS College on Artificial Intelligence

Dr. Srikar Velichety, assistant professor in the department of Business Information
and Technology, has been named as the secretary for INFORMS College on Artificial
Intelligence (CAI) for the 2016 – 2018 term. CAI brings together researchers and practitioners
interested in the theory, application, and methodologies of artificial intelligence.
The purpose of this college is to provide a continuing, specialized focus within INFORMS
on the topics of artificial intelligence which include the study of intelligent systems,
problem solving methods, and knowledge management, with the aim of identifying current
and potential problems and contributions to their solutions.
"Dr. Velichety is helping lead the BIT field into the future. Tomorrow's business leaders will need to utilize the AI functionality of information systems for strategic decision making," said Dr. Robin Poston, chair of the BIT department.
