Fogelman College’s Honors Program hosted their sixth annual honors and scholarship banquet

Professor Irvin Tankersley, director of Fogelman College Honors Program, recently
hosted the sixth annual FCBE Honors and Scholarship Banquet. This special event was
well attended by students, faculty, and staff. It was an opportunity to recognize
honors students and scholarship recipients for their outstanding achievements and
successes throughout the past year. Professor Jeffrey Nevels received the Honors Teacher
of the Year award. Ms. Tiyana Childres, Mr. Austin Cantu, and Ms. Kendall Major each
received the Honors Student of the Year award.
Students, Tyler Stegall, Brooke Benjamin, and Trae Townsend, gave speeches highlighting what FCBE meant to them and how the projects and opportunities offered at Fogelman College enriched their lives and the lives of others. The special guest speaker was Mr. Jay Myers, founder and CEO of Interactive Solutions, Inc. He spoke to the audience about “hitting curveballs” and overcoming obstacles in life. Mr. Myers provided attendees with a personalized signed copy of his book Hitting the Curve Balls, How Crisis Can Strengthen and Grow Your Business.
