Dr. Barbara Davis named as the 2016 Igniting Excitement Flame Award recipient

Dr. Barbara Davis, associate professor in the Department of Management, has been named
as the 2016 Igniting Excitement Flame Award recipient by the Black Scholars Unlimited
student organization.
Current and former student members of the Black Scholars Unlimited student organization nominate faculty members for the award. The Executive Board and the members of Black Scholars Unlimited then vote and select the award recipient. The award recognizes African-American professors at the University of Memphis who ignite excitement in their students, both inside and outside of the classroom. Black Scholars Unlimited is a prestigious organization designed to achieve academic excellence through scholarship, leadership, and service.
"I am extremely honored to be selected as a recipient of this award," said Dr. Barbara Davis, associate professor of Management. "I, along with the entire University community, am proud to know that these students strive to reach their highest potential. The Black Scholars organization confirms the belief that the opportunity to excel is fueled by high expectations."

"Dr. Davis does an outstanding job teaching our Business Communication students and serving as course coordinator each semester. This is a well-deserved recognition!"
