First Annual TechUP Competition

This April, the Association of Management Information Systems (AMIS) and the Department
of Business Information and Technology (BIT) hosted the first annual TechUP competition
for students. Participants were required to learn a new technology. Then, they presented
their findings to local IT professionals.
All participants received a Certificate of Achievement and were treated to lunch with IT professionals and BIT faculty. The three winners out of the eighteen participants each received a $100 Visa gift card. The winners were Michael Slauson, who presented on Desktop and Server virtualization; Venkatesh Varma Mandapti, who presented on Programming in R; and Herve Aniglo, who presented on Creating Music with Python.
