Dr. Marla Royne Stafford and Former Ph.D. Student Receive Best Paper Awards

Dr. Marla Royne Stafford, Great Oaks Foundation professor of Marketing and chair of
the Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management, will receive the Best Paper
Award in the Promotions Track at the upcoming Society for Marketing Advances Conference
for her paper entitled, "Impact of Advergame Speed, Brand Placement Strength, and
Persuasion Knowledge on Brand Recall." The paper was coauthored with Devika Vashisht,
a former FCBE visiting scholar from the ICFAI Business School of Hyderabad. The conference
will be held in San Antonio in early November.
In addition, Christine Kowalczyk, a Fogelman College PhD graduate, will be receiving the Best Paper in the Marketing Research Track for her paper entitled, "Texting and Driving: Perfecting the Message to Address the Public Health Concern." Dr. Kowalczyk's paper was coauthored with Karen M. Hood, Eastern Kentucky University, and Christopher D. Hopkins, Clemson University.
