Dr. Catherine Eckel Visits FCBE

Dr. Catherine Coleman Eckel, professor of Economics and Texas A&M University, will
visit Fogelman College October 15-17. Dr. Eckel has a number of National Science Foundation
Grants for her research, over 70 published articles, and has supervised countless
dissertations and theses. She is recognized internationally as one of the leading
figures in experimental economics and is attracting much attention for her visit,
including that of the University President, Dr. Rudd.
During her visit, she will be meeting with the Center for Research on Women (CROW). On October 16, she will be visiting Dr. Smith's Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON 2010) class in Room 118 from 10:20AM-11:15AM to conduct a few classroom experiments. She will also present her paper, "Sacrifice: An experiment on the political economy of extreme intergroup punishment" from 2PM-3:30PM in Room 131..
