For release: April 1, 2015
Dr. Douglas Campbell, instructor of Economics, has been selected as the recipient
of the Honors Program’s Excellence in Teaching Award. Honors students from across
the University had the opportunity to nominate an effective and imaginative professor
for this award. His contributions will be accepted at the Honors Awards Luncheon on
April 10th in the University Center.
Students nominated Dr. Campbell by recognizing his outstanding knowledge in the field
of economics and by his incredible teaching style and connection to students. “He
really knows how to present the information in a way to make sure his students understand,
engage, and stay interested,” said one student.
Another student appreciated the time Dr. Campbell takes preparing for his classes.
“He seems to put a lot of time into his lectures and is an all-around great professor.”
He is admired as a great professor and is, said another student, “one of the most
effective teachers I’ve ever had.”
