Research Partnerships with the COE
Faculty in the College of Education (COE) have forged research collaborations with
faculty in other University of Memphis (UofM) departments and with faculty in institutions
across the country. As part of its mission, the COE is focused on continuing to strengthen
relationships with other researchers to assemble teams of experienced and visionary
personnel to meet opportunities and challenges related to educating individuals, transforming
educational systems, training future leaders and providing a variety of counseling
and rehabilitative services.
COE faculty offer expertise in a range of research topics including:
• Educational systems, policies and analysis, including school choice and leadership
• Urban education
• Instructional Design & Technology
• Counseling psychology and rehabilitation counseling
• Educational psychology
• Disability support services
• Substance abuse and misuse
• Behavioral interventions and analysis for individuals with special needs
• Autism
• Literacy
• Leadership and policy related to higher and adult education
• Community education related to environmental, economic and social renewal
• Teacher effectiveness
• Data collection, analysis and management related to research projects
As you plan your next grant or contract proposal, contact the COE to discuss your
proposal and the expertise that we can bring to your team. We also want to know about
your expertise and research interests, so that our faculty can see how they might
partner with you on one of their proposals.
