College of Education Announces Promotion & Tenure for Seven Faculty

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis’ College of Education is pleased to announce the promotion and tenure of seven (7) faculty members. The promotions include five promotions in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership, one in the Department of Leadership, and one in the Center for Research in Educational Policy.

 

The College’s Dean, Michael Miller, commented “The promotions and granting of tenure to these seven faculty members represents an important recognition of their outstanding work by the College of Education and the University of Memphis. Each of these faculty members have contributed important elements to the academic life of our institution and the students we serve.” He also added “Through their teaching, research, and service, they create an academic community that continues to gain national recognition.”

 

In the Department of Instruction and Curriculum Leadership (ICL), Jennifer Bubrig was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor, Dr. Keishana Barnes was promoted to Associate Professor of Teaching, Dr. Logan Caldwell was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor, and Dr. Torre Kelley was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor. Also in ICL, Dr. Diana Delgado was tenured and promoted to Associate Professor.

 

Dr. Edith Gnanadass was promoted to Associate Professor of Higher and Adult Education in the Department of Leadership, and Dr. Carolyn Kaldon was promoted to Full Research Professor in the Center for Research in Educational Policy.

 

Promotion & Tenure is a process that takes place over the course of the academic year, beginning in the faculty member's department and eventually ending with approval by the university's president and board of trustees.

 

The College of Education at the University of Memphis is a nationally recognized and accredited academic body of over 1,200 students and nearly 100 faculty members. The College was awarded over $10 million in grants and contracts during the past year and offers a full range of academic programs both in-person and through online formats.
