Biography
I am an Economics Ph.D. candidate at the University of Memphis. My broad research area is applied microeconomics, with primary interests in Health, Labor, Public, and Education Economics, and secondary interests in Financial Economics and Business Research. I particularly study how health investments in infants and toddlers affect human capital and behavioral outcomes in the short- and long-term, the economics of risky health behaviors, particularly those related to body mass index, underweight, overweight, and obese conditions. My research also examines the socioeconomic inequalities and the geographic (i.e., rural-urban, regional) and racial disparities in health and healthcare utilization. Additionally, I evaluate how any policy or intervention affects specific health and labor market outcomes. I have authored publications in prominent peer-refereed journals. Additionally, I presented my research at several conferences, including the American Economic Association, Southern Economic Association, and American Society of Health Economists annual meetings. I reviewed research articles for journals, including the International Journal of Emerging Markets, British Food Journal, International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, and Sustainable Agriculture Research, and am working as an Academic Editor for PLOS One.
