Biography
Babasoji Oyemakinde is an Economics Ph.D. Candidate at the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis. Prior to his doctoral studies, he obtained a Master's degree in Economics from The State University of New York at Buffalo. Since 2020, he has been teaching courses on principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics. His research interests revolve around the intersection of health and public policy economics. Mr. Oyemakinde has had the opportunity to present his research at several prominent conferences, including the Midwest Economic Association (MEA), American Society for Health Economists (ASHEcon), Western Economics Association International (WEAI), and Southern Economic Association (SEA). His dedication to promoting diversity and inclusivity within the field of health economics was recognized with the ASHEcon Diversity Scholarship. This award highlights his commitment to addressing complex issues, such as the impact of federal grants programs on drug overdose mortality rates, with a particular emphasis on factors like gender and ethnicity in his research work.
