About East Asian Studies Institute (EASI)

The East Asian Studies Institute (EASI) is an Organized Research Unit and academic institute that serves as the prime focus for the University of Memphis related to East Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. EASI offers a full complement of undergraduate and graduate degrees in the interdisciplinary studies of contemporary and historical East Asia.

It supports a comprehensive spectrum of a variety of fields and academic departments and schools, including anthropology, archaeology, architecture, art history, business, cultures, economics, ethnomusicology, film studies, geography, history, journalism, languages, music, psychology, social welfare, sociology, visual anthropology, and visual art. 

It also helps the communities and organizations outside academia, including business, journalism, arts and culture, to better understand and communicate with each other.
