Paying for College
Below are resources to assist you with financing your education:
- Univeristy of Memphis Financial Aid
- University of Memphis Scholarships. There are 3 scholarships specifically for students with disabilities. Those are the Exchange Club E Memphis/A Shackelford Scholarship, the William P. Roberts Memorial Scholarship, and the Cecil William Duke Memorial Scholarship.
- Tennessee Vocational Rehabilitation. This resource helps with training for career and may provide financial assistance for attending college. The local office contact information is 40 South Main Street, Suite 100, Memphis, Tennessee 38103; call 833-751-0597 and select option 3.
- Totally and Permanently Disabled Waiver. The state of Tennessee offers this waiver to those who are totally and permanently disabled and unable to work. To apply for this waiver, please complete the form at the link above or provide a letter showing current SSI/SSDI eligibility. The waiver is good for 1 full calendar year (i.e., Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters). You will need to renew your application every year. Application materials should be emailed to drs@memphis.edu.
