Academic Accommodations
Accommodations are based on a student's requests, history, educational experiences, and diagnosed condition(s) and are decided in consultation with the student during the initial appointment. Although accommodations are unique to each individual, the following accommodations are commonly requested:
- Alternative Testing Accommodations, such as extended time, low stimulus environment, computer for hand-written portions of the test, enlarged test, audio format of test, etc.
- Alternative Format for Course Materials, such as digital, Braille, audio or enlarged.
- Note taking Assistance, such as a copy of PowerPoints, use of an electronic device, use of note taking software, and lecture recordings.
- Flexibility with attendance, due dates, or tardiness.
- Communication Access, such as sign language interpreters or CART.
- Accessible Classroom Furniture, such as adjustable height tables, alternative seating, etc.
