Instructions for Scheduling Exams at DRS

For additional help, please watch the tutorial video

  1. Log in to your DRS Online student portal.
  2. Scroll down until you see “Alternative Testing” in the left side navigation menu and select it.
  3. If you get the warning “Important Note: Courses marked with * do not have Exam Instructions specified by the instructor and you will be required to enter the standard length of the exam,” you can proceed, but you will need to know the amount of time the rest of the class will receive for the quiz, exam, and/or final exam.
  4. Next, from the “Select Course” drop-down menu, select the course to schedule your exam. If the exam instructions for classes have been completed, you will see the “exam instructions” menu without asterisk (*). Then click “schedule an exam” to proceed.
  5. In the next step, be sure to read the instructions for “Scheduling to Take Exams at DRS.” You will see the “Exam Details” section and in this section, you will be able to schedule your exam.
  6. Enter the type of exam (i.e., quix, exam, final)
  7. Enter the campus location.
  8. Enter the date of the exam.
  9. Enter the time that you will begin the exam.
  10. If your professor has not completed the exam instructions, enter the standard length of exam (i.e., the amount of time the rest of the class will receive for the quiz, exam, and/or final exam)
  11. Select the accommodations you wish to use on your exam.
  12. Once you have completed all the necessary information, scroll to the bottom of the screen, and click “Add Exam Request.”
  13. Once you have successfully requested to schedule your exam, an email notification will be sent to DRS, your instructor, and your student email account.
  14. When DRS receives your request to schedule, we will make sure that you scheduled the exam at a time approved by your instructor and that we have the space to accommodate your exam. You will also receive a notification of confirmation once your exam has been approved and scheduled by DRS.
  15. If you do not receive confirmation, your exam request is not approved, and you will either need to take the exam with the class without your accommodations or get approval from your instructor to reschedule it with DRS at another time.
  16. If you make a mistake or decide you want to update your request, you can modify or cancel your request by going back to the scheduled exam, and modifying the test time and/or date, or cancelling the request.
