Disability Discrimination
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, as amended, and Section 504 of the Rehab Act of 1973 provide a solid foundation on which to build our commitment to including students with disabilities as a valuable part of the University of Memphis community. In accordance with these civil rights laws, no qualified person will be denied access to, participation in, or the benefits of, any program or activity operated by the University because of disability. The Office for Institutional Equity (OIE) is responsible for administering and monitoring the University of Memphis’s equal opportunity/nondiscrimination policies and procedures and serves as the compliance office for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Inquiries about or complaints alleging discrimination or violation of the ADA should be directed to OIE at 901-678-2713 or oie@memphis.edu.
