The Diplomacy Research Lab at The University of Memphis is a transdisciplinary research group investigating the world’s most pressing issues about how diplomacy can improve relations, reduce tensions, and reveal the dynamics of dyadic, regional, and organizational cooperation in the international system.

DRL Activities
- Coordinates and supports innovative and collaborative research at the UofM on issues of diplomacy, broadly defined
- Investigates the nature of cooperation to Identify, anticipate, and near and long-term issues and crises in local, regional, national, and international spaces; and
- Collaborates across disciplines and fields on dimensions of diplomacy, such as dialogue, power, and security (broadly defined)
DRL Goals
- Secure external funding in emerging areas of concern related to diplomacy
- Develop sustainable transdisciplinary collaborations at the UofM
- Provide accessible public-facing information via white papers, colloquia, and other innovative forms of communication about research discoveries from University collaborations
- Facilitate high-level and pathbreaking research for high-impact publications
- Host invited guest speakers/lecturers on the theme of diplomacy
