Cultivating Inclusion

As part of its strategic planning process, the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders renewed the values that underlie our mission and the work that we do.

At the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, we welcome students, patients/clients, faculty, and staff from anywhere—regardless of gender, sex, creed, ethnicity, language, disability, socioeconomic status, veteran status, who you love, or what your skin tone is. As healthcare providers, we have an ethical obligation to serve all who seek our services. As educators, we have an obligation to ensure that students are prepared to work with a broad range of people and that students have access to the resources they need to be successful. As academics, we recognize the importance of openness and curiosity, and we value the unique contributions from individuals to the whole of our community. We value the differences in culture and perspective among us and see these as a strength of our school community.
