Prof. Vasile Rus Receives $2M iCODE Grant

Prof. Vasile Rus is the PI on the iCODE (improve source CODE comprehension) project, a three-year effort funded with $1,999,595 from the Department of Education's Institute for Education Sciences.

The project will focus on developing new educational technology to improve students' code comprehension skills.  This iCODE technology will incorporate multiple techniques including reading strategies training, Animated Pedagogical Agents, inclusive and culturally responsive instructional design, and the Open ProSocial Learner Model.  By adapting to individual learner characteristics, iCODE will benefit both CS and non-CS majors, as well as underrepresented groups in CS and higher education.
