Department Receives $36K Gift from Intel

Posted on 2022-01-18

The gift will be applied towards several diversity initiatives, including:

  • Intel will sponsor ten of the department's Diversity in Computer Science scholarships.
  • Intel will sponsor the summer Creative Game Design Camp for high-school students, covering tuition for camp participants, faculty/staff/student assistant time, advertising, camp materials, and food.  Since attendees will not have to pay tuition, this is hoped to increase the number of participants from low-income households.
  • Intel will provide industry-based projects for students to work on.
  • Intel will provide access to its Intel Developers Cloud and data center cluster for faculty and student use.

This gift was facilitated by Advisory Board member and department alum Naga Gurumoorthy (MS 1997).
