New Grants for Profs. Watson and Venugopal

Prof. Thomas Watson and Prof. Deepak Venugopal have been awarded new research grants.

Prof. Watson (right) is the PI on a new $175K grant from the National Science Foundation.  The project, entitled "CRII: AF: Developing and Applying Connections Between Communication Complexity and Query Complexity," starts on July 1 , 2017 and ends June 30, 2019.

Prof. Venugopal (below center) was awarded a Smart Cities Research Grant from the FedEx Institute of Technology and the City of Memphis.  The project is entitled "Predicting Localized, Fine-Grained Crime Types using Twitter."
