About Mr. McKinney
Mr. McKinney is currently a Research Associate at the Center for Research in Educational Policy (CREP) with several years of experience in quantitative and mixed-methods program evaluation in multiple fields of study. He has designed and led evaluations in K-12 and postsecondary education, mental health counseling in children and adults, and business. In addition to traditional approaches such as large-scale RCTs and repeated measures designs, he has experience with a wide range of assessment methods, such as studying the therapeutic relationship between counselors and clients, or determining the cultural identity of an academic program. Currently, he serves as Project Manager for Smithsonian Science for North and South Carolina Classrooms, an RCT of 52 schools across two states.
Mr. McKinney received his master’s degree in Educational Psychology and Research (concentration in Educational Research) from the University of Memphis in Memphis, TN. His thesis was on project-based science education in elementary and middle school students. He received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR.
