UNWIND & RESTORE 

The Relaxation Zone offers a variety of services called "relaxation stations"

  • Multiple massage chairs
  • Biofeedback computer station
  • Stress relief coloring
  • Zen garden sand trays
  • Buddha boards
  • Positivity board
  • Stress ball creation station
  • Centering Stone Making

Visits are free and only available for currently enrolled University of Memphis students

GETTING STARTED 

  1. Visit the Relaxation Zone in Brister 302 or UC 2nd Floor Involvement Zone- never been before? Check out our video on how to find the RZ!
  2. At your first visit to the relaxation zone, staff will assist with the necessary computer paperwork and orient you to the relaxation stations
  3. All subsequent visits will only require you to sign in and complete a pre-survey and post-survey each visit
  4. Appointments can be made by emailing relaxationzone@memphis.edu or calling 901.678.2068 but walk-ins are available too!
  5. Get your relax on!

  • Two Locations:
    • Brister Hall 302
    • UC 2nd Floor Involvement Zone Room 227
  • Fall and Spring open Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Summer semester open Monday to Friday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • The Relaxation Zone reopens for the semester the first day of classes and remains open until the end of exams unless otherwise specified on our social media.

* For concerns about accessibility, the UC 2nd Floor Involvement Zone is accessible. 

Get Your Relax on Group Program 

"Get your Relax on" is our stress management program in the Relaxation Zone for faculty, staff, and students to request to bring your group to our Relaxation Zone and have an interactive relaxing and self-care experience. You can expect to learn about basic stress management, utilize our relaxation stations, and engage in a variety of mindfulness and guided meditation techniques.

Requests

Visit our outreach page> here to submit a request for our Get your Relax on Stress management program in the Relaxation Zone! Please submit with at least two weeks' notice and efforts are made to respond to all requests within 2-3 business days.

Zen Zone: Faculty and Staff RZ Breaks

Take a self-care break and explore the Relaxation Zone during the school semester breaks ( typically these are around Fall break, after final exams, Spring break, and a few summer offerings!) 

  • Friday 8/30 3:00-4:00

    Friday 9/27 3:00-4:00

    Friday 10/11 12:00-4:00

    Monday 10/14 9:00-12:00

    Friday 10/25 3:00-4:00

    Friday 11/22 3:00-4:00
