About

Ashlyn M. Blair is an Assistant Professor of Teaching at the UofM Lambuth Campus in Jackson, TN. After earning both her bachelor (2017) and master (2020) degrees in Communication from the University of Memphis, and teaching public speaking and interpersonal communication courses at other institutions, Ashlyn is honored to have been given the opportunity to come back to her hometown of Jackson and join the University of Memphis Department of Communication and Film faculty, teaching at the Lambuth Campus, starting August of 2024. 

She currently and primarily teaches oral communication and interpersonal communication courses, with research interests revolving around public speaking education, oral communication, interpersonal communication, and instructional communication. Prior research endeavors included public memory, the National Civil Rights Museum and the Civil Rights Movement, rhetorical performance, regionalism, and place within communication.
