Graduate Student Researchers
Anna Trace Brewer Anna Trace is a dual Doctor of Audiology and Master of Public Health Student completing her capstone research project in the CIRL. She is currently working with the Memphis SOUND team to collect and code data from participants about their access to hearing healthcare within their community. She is particularly interested in communication public health and the determinants that are associated with hearing loss that impact individuals’ overall quality of life. |

Emerson Crawford Emerson is a third-year student completing her capstone project with the Memphis SOUND project. She is collecting and coding quantitative data from participant interviews. This project is looking into the African American communities' access to hearing healthcare in the Memphis area. Her interests are pediatrics, cochlear implants and public health. |

Isabelle Yap Izzy is a dual student obtaining a doctorate in audiology and master’s in public health with an interest in early intervention. Izzy is completing her capstone research project with Ruth Ann Ramsay in the CIRL. They will be working on the Memphis SOUND project to better understand how psychological, social, and economic factors impact hearing health behavior. |

Mira Milman Mira is completing her capstone research project in the CIRL where she is interested in the outcomes of students who have completed the Doctor of Audiology and Master of Public Health dual degree program. She is interested in the connection between audiology and public health, along with the connection to audiology and electrophysiology. |

Ruth Ann Ramsey Ruth Ann is a dual student obtaining a doctorate in Audiology and master’s in public health. She is completing her capstone project with Izzy Yap in the CIRL where they are continuing research in the Memphis SOUND project to better understand how psychological, social, and economic factors affect hearing health behaviors. |

Karissa Terry Karissa is a third year Doctor of Audiology Student completing her capstone research project in the CIRL. She is exploring the device usage patterns of pre-lingually deafened adults who use sign language. She is also investigating the relationship between devices, usage patterns, and cultural identity. Her interests include pediatric audiology, educational audiology, cochlear implants, hearing aids, family centered care, and cultural values relating to hearing loss. |

Emma Kate Thompson Emma Kate is a second year Doctor of Audiology student completing her capstone research project in the CIRL. She is currently working with the Memphis SOUND team to assess the knowledge of and experience with hearing healthcare in African American communities and churches in the Memphis area. Her interests include public health, pediatrics, cochlear implants, and bone-anchored hearing aids. |

Parks Flynt Parks is a second-year Doctor of Audiology student completing her capstone project in the Cochlear Implant Research Lab. She is currently working with the Memphis SOUND team to assess the knowledge of and experience with hearing healthcare in African American communities and churches in the Memphis area.
