2024 Raymond James CTF Competition
Cyber Tigers - Kate Hensley, Chance Kirby (Team Captain), Luke Hwang, Kylan Pluk, and Nicholas Redmond (President)
The University of Memphis sent two teams to the 2024 Raymond James Capture the Flag Competition in Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida. The university was represented by the Cyber Tigers and the UMRFV teams. The competition took place at Raymond James Headquarters on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Team members were provided air travel, hotel lodging, and shuttle service to and from Tampa International Airport.
Members of the Cyber Tigers’ competition team for the event were as follows: Nicholas Redmond (Team Captain), Kate Hensley, Kylan Plunk, Chance Kirby, and Luke Hwang. Tony Pinson served as the Cyber Tiger’s staff advisor for the event.
Members of the UMRF Ventures competition team were Jacob Peirce, John Dorion, Kenneth Pratt, Wyatt Mutchler-Lee, and Shalin Maria. Dr. Scott Wann served as the team faculty advisor for the event. Katy Higgins, a UMRF Ventures manager, served as the coordinator for all the activities for the competition teams.
Unfortunately, neither of the two teams finished in the top three of the competition. The Cyber Tigers performed respectably during the regular capture the flag activities of the competition, but their team score faded with the ad hoc challenge competitions.
