Dr. Dipankar Dasgupta served as a Panelist at the 2018 SEC Academic Conference
Professor Dipankar Dasgupta, the director of the Center for Information Assurance, served as a panelist at the 2018 SEC Academic Conference on April 9, 2018. This conference was hosted at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama from April 8-10. He participated in a panel discussion that focused on Privacy vs. Security. This panel discussion was prefaced with a keynote speech that was delivered by former U.S. Director of National Intelligence and Navy Vice Admiral Mike McConnell.
The moderator for this panel discussion was Mr. Matt Rogers (Rhodes Scholar, Auburn University). Fellow panelists included Dr. Ray Vaughn (Vice President for Research and Economic Development, University of Alabama-Huntsville), Dr. Tony Skjellum (Director of the SimCenter-Center of Excellence in Applied Computational Science and Engineering, University of Tennessee-Chattanooga), and Dr. Csilla Farkas (Director of the Center for Information Assurance Engineering, University of South Carolina). The panel discussed the research direction to take with regard to balancing privacy with security and had a conversational atmosphere. Many attendees asked the panelists questions and contributed ideas for further discussion.
