Dean's Academic Achievement Award for Students
The academic achievement award goes to the undergraduate student with the highest
GPA for the year within CCFA.
The recipient receives a $250 check and a plaque during the University's Annual Honors
Assembly in April. The Graduation Analyst determines and verifies the recipient.

Dean's Undergraduate Outstanding Achievement Award
The Dean’s Undergraduate Outstanding Achievement Award is given to the student who
demonstrates an exceptional level of creative/scholarly achievement throughout the
student’s undergraduate studies in relation to peers within their discipline.
The criteria are based on the quality of the student’s creative/scholarly achievements
and presentation.
Departments submit the selected nominee to Ashley Harris. Students nominated to the CCFA Leadership Team will receive a $100 check and a plaque.
The Dean’s Undergraduate Outstanding Award winner will receive $250 and a plaque.
All selected students will be recognized at the university-wide Honors Assembly.
The deadline for departmental nominations is Thursday, March 8, 2025.
Graduate School's Creative Achievement Awards
This annual award recognizes CCFA graduate students' outstanding achievement in the
creative arts.
The College accepts one nomination each from the Department of Theatre & Dance, the
Scheidt School of Music, the Department of Architecture, and the Department of Communication
and Film.
Candidates are reviewed by the College Council for Graduate Studies, which makes its
recommendation to the Graduate School.
The deadline for departmental nominations is Tuesday, February 20, 2025.
Graduate Outstanding Research Award
This annual award recognizes CCFA graduate students' outstanding achievement in scholarly
research.
The College accepts one nomination at each program level (Masters and Doctoral) from
each department within the College of Communication and Fine Arts. Candidates are
reviewed by the College Council for Graduate Studies, which forwards the highest-ranked
applicant to the Graduate School.
The deadline for departmental nominations is Tuesday, February 20, 2025.
Graduate Art Purchase Award
The Graduate School will purchase an artwork chosen by the guest juror of AMUM's Annual
Juried Student Exhibition.
Students become eligible by entering their work in the exhibition. Additional purchases,
cash, and gift prizes are also awarded; these vary from year to year. Deadline for
submission is mid-December.
