Scheidt Family Music Center
Following upon the budget approval by the Tennessee State Funding Board (May, 2017), plans for the new Scheidt Family Music Center are moving full steam ahead, with a ground breaking ceremony planned for October, 2017, in anticipation of launching the new center in 2020.
Research and Public Performances
Robyn Jones, clarinet, performed and presented Master Classes throughout China.
John Chiego had the Fourth Edition of The Musical Experience, a university-level music textbook, published by Kendall-Hunt Publishers.
Marcin Arendt and Sam Shoup performed at the Memphis in Poland Festival at the legendary Forest Opera in Sopot, Poland, and presented Master Classes at Gdansk University.
Cathal Breslin served as the Director of the Walled City Music Festival in Ireland.
Lenny Schranze, Tim Shiu, Marcin Arendt and Kyle Ferrill performed and served on the faculty at the Interlochen Summet Fine Arts Camp in Michigan.
Mary Wilson sang: Beethoven 9 in Portland Maine – with Robert Moody; Poulenc Gloria at Duke University – also gave a MasterClass; La Resurrezione with American Bach Soloists in San Francisco; Pergolesi Stabat Mater with New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center; Bach B-Minor Mass with Orchestra Iowa; Mahler Symphony No. 2 with Pacific Symphony; Mahler Symphony No. 2 with National Symphony Orchestra in Costa Rica; a Baroque recital with lute for American Bach Soloists Academy; Beethoven Symphony No. 9 in Boulder at the Colorado Music Festival. Still to come before classes start are: Women's Voice Clinician and soloist at the Moravian Music Foundation Festival, Brahms Requiem with Minnesota Oratorio Society and Source Song recital for world premiere cycle by Dylan Evan Thomas.
