Youth Advisory Committee
CAYD supports the Refugee Empowerment Program/Shelby County Connects youth advisory committee comprised of youth (ages 11 - 19) from across Shelby County and the City of Memphis. The Youth Advisory committee gives guidance to the activities of CAYD. They contribute to such activities as interpreting evaluation data, recommending data collection procedures, and designing interventions. They meet four times a year using multi-media and social networking methods.
The community advisory committee is comprised of community members, who are youth service providers, educators, parents, concerned citizens, policy makers, human service providers and community leaders. The community advisory committee will give guidance to the activities of CAYD. Committee members will take an active role in such activities as interpreting evaluation data, recommending data collection procedures, recommending training topics, and building collaborations between youth serving organizations.
