As a readmitted student whose last Academic Status was not Good Standing, there are a few additional requirements that you must meet during your first semester back. Please review the details for your Academic Status and To Do List below.
If your status is Academic Suspension or Continuing Probation you must:
- Sign a Conditional Enrollment Agreement (CEA): your assigned CARES counselor will provide this document after you have been readmitted. During this process he/she will discuss strategy for the semester and connect you with very helpful resources to support your success.
- Bi-weekly Meetings with a CARES Counselor: throughout your first semester, you will be required to meet with a CARES counselor once every two weeks. During these meetings your counselor will discuss your progress in each course and help you navigate any difficulties you may have. Think of your CARES counselor as your personal success concierge. He/She will connect you with other university resources that will support you on your academic journey

- Meet with your academic advisor to plan your courses for the upcoming semester.
- Check the Accounts tab in myMemphis to review any financial aid requirements. You may need to contact the Financial Aid Office to complete the Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal (SAP Appeal) process. 901-678-4825 / 103 Wilder Tower / financialaid@memphis.edu
- Register for classes! You MUST be registered by the last day of regular registration. The sooner you register, the better!
- Complete CEA sent via UM email by your CARES counselor. This form should be completed as soon as possible
- Schedule an appointment with your CARES counselor. A scheduling link will be emailed before the start of the semester.
If your status is First Time Probation you must:
- Complete ACAD 2200: this self-paced online seminar is free and will automatically appear in eCourseware at the beginning of the semester. You must complete this seminar by the end of the semester or you may not be allowed to enroll in future semesters. Did you know that approximately 90% of students who complete ACAD 2200 return to Good Academic Standing? We encourage you to complete the seminar by mid-term so that you can apply the valuable success strategies learned to your current semester classes. If you complete ACAD 2200 by mid-term you can even win a book scholarship qualify for priority registration for the next semester!

Access ACAD 2200 in eCourseware beginning the first day of classes - Complete all modules by the assigned due date(s)
If your status is Academic Warning you must:
- Complete CARES Academic Success Workshop
- Participate in Academic Coaching for Excellence (ACE): while on Academic Warning, you will meet with an ACE coach once every two weeks. During these coaching sessions, your ACE coach will discuss your academic progress and success strategies for the semester. You will be contacted by Dr. Meghan Pfeiffer via the University of Memphis email approximately 2 weeks prior to the start of the semester to schedule your first coaching session. NOTE: this requirement is only for students with an Academic Status of Academic Warning who are Freshmen and Sophomores (i.e. have earned less than 60 credit hours).
